The crew of Red Anchor believes that looking after you, keeping you safe and providing the best holiday you can dream of is their responsibility. It is why they love the Mediterranean, Red Anchor and their job.

Captain — Matthew Donegan

Matthew Donegan

Matt has travelled thousands of sea miles in sail and motor yachts in his 14 years at sea. His maritime experience has taken him to places as varied as the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Pacific, USA, Cuba, Canada, Alaska and French Polynesia. He has also been involved in many extensive vessel refits in shipyards around the world.

The Captain has overall command of the yacht with full responsibility for the passengers and crew, and for the security and safety of the vessel. With a hands on approach as Captain, Matt delights in assisting guests and crew to ensure an enjoyable relaxed experience on board Red Anchor.

Born in England Matt lives in Palma de Mallorca with his Swedish born wife. He speaks English and has an understanding of French and Spanish.

Matt holds a Certificate of Competency - Master of Yachts under 3000gt.

Chef — Danielle Stone

Danielle Stone

Danielle’s culinary career began at 16 in the heart of London at the renowned restaurant ‘Le Gavroche’. From there she traded warm beer for the sunny skies and chic atmosphere of the tiny island of St Barth in the French Caribbean cooking at a plethora of top restaurants. Surrounded by water, yachting was an obvious choice and she has been delighting the taste buds of guests with her creativity and passion for food.

Outside of the galley Danielle enjoys water sports, reading, snow skiing, running and horse riding. Danielle is also an accomplished photographer with her reel flourishing with idyllic destinations providing great backdrops for her wandering lens. A highlight was sharing her camera and the Atlantic with pods of dolphins.

Danielle speaks fluent French and English.
 

Chief Stewardess — Maryna Vdovychenko

Maryna Vdovychenko

Maryna’s childhood was spent with her family in Indonesia. It was from this time, being raised on the Indonesian coast, where Maryna discovered her love of the ocean.

Maryna began her career in the yachting industry at the age of eighteen, when she discovered her dream job; one that let her grow professionally, exercise creativity and travel the world.

Whilst studying Business Administration at Odessa Polytechnic University in the Ukraine, Maryna realised that the hospitality industry is what gave her true enjoyment. This combined with her love of the ocean and experience in the yachting industry, Maryna is a natural fit for Red Anchor.

Maryna is strongly passionate about providing the best customer service for the guests, and gets personal satisfaction when guests have an incredible time. Maryna is extremely creative, with impeccable presentation skills, and adds the final touches with her beautiful flower arrangements, for which she trained in Monaco.

Maryna is fluent in English, French, Russian and Ukrainian.
 

Stewardess — Edyta Szutenbach

Edyta Szutenbach

Edyta grew up in Poland and after completing computer studies moved to the Netherlands to work in the hospitality industry. With more than seven years experience she is a trained restaurant manager and delights in fine dining and exceptional silver service.

She revels in the pressure that comes from changes in plans and last minute additions to a menu or itinerary. She really just wants to make everything right and everyone happy.

Edyta loves to read and keep fit dancing; she teaches both salsa and lambada and speaks English, Polish and Dutch.
 

Mate — Matthew Coleman

Matthew Coleman

Born January 21st 1988, Matt is originally from Perth on the West Coast of Australia. Matt has always held a close and passionate affiliation with the ocean. Learning to swim almost came before learning to walk, and has subsequently led to Matt’s entire life being devoted in some way to the ocean and water sports.

Growing up amongst boats around the West Australian coast, Matt has always had a keen passion for yachts. He dove head-first into the industry when at age nineteen, the opportunity arose to work professionally onboard one of the world’s finest yachts. Matt has since devoted himself to the pursuit of becoming a yacht captain in the future.

Over the past 4 years Matt has had the pleasure of working and accumulating thousands of sea miles around the world, in places such as the Mediterranean, Indonesia, Madagascar, Baltic and the Caribbean.

In his time off, amongst other things, Matt enjoys Surfing, Wakeboarding, Spear fishing, and having a good time with his mates.
 

Deckhand — Jonathan Gedye

Jonathan Gedye

Jonny was born in Auckland, New Zealand and studied Political Science and History at University combining this with eight years in the hospitality industry as a barista, waiter and cocktail bartender.

In his second year on super yachts, Jonny has travelled the Mediterranean working as a deckhand and chef.

Jonny loves cricket, sailing, cooking, and travelling. He makes a fabulous short black and mixes a great martini. When onshore, he’s perfecting his stroke on the nearest golf course.
 

Engineer — Matt Dean

Matt Dean

Matt has worked professionally on large sailing and motor yachts since 1995. Aside from his experience in Europe, Matt has cruised extensively in the Pacific North West of Canada and Alaska, also spending many seasons in the Caribbean and Mediterranean.

Matt has a wide range of interests including both land and water sports, photography and travel. He was born in Southern Africa and moved to Europe as a child. After spending so much time in British Columbia, he now calls Vancouver home.
